Embracing Solitude: A Journey of Self-Discovery

In the hustle of everyday life, finding moments to be alone with our thoughts can seem like a luxury. Yet, amidst the chaos, I've come to realize the importance of carving out time for self-reflection, especially as a single working mom juggling countless responsibilities.

Over time, I've evolved, as we all do. And with that evolution comes the need to pause, reflect, and reassess where I stand in life. But finding the time for this introspection hasn't been easy, given the demands of work and family. Finally, this past weekend, I decided to prioritize myself. I put aside the never-ending to-do list and ventured out alone. It felt both nerve-wracking and liberating.

Sitting in a quiet corner of a newly opened café, surrounded by the hum of conversation and the sun spreading joy, I allowed myself to simply be. With no agenda, I immersed myself in the moment, embracing the discomfort of solitude and reading my book. In that stillness, the noise of everyday life began to fade, and I found clarity in the quietude. Reflecting on past experiences and contemplating future endeavors, I discovered a newfound sense of changes and actions to take. I've reflected on how I want to feel and what I need to do about it.

But how does one know if the things we decide to do are right? Well, first and foremost I believe if they scare you and make you feel uncomfortable, then it's definitely the right thing to do. I'm a strong believer that growth happens outside of our comfort zones and the past few months have been proof for that. I started the journey of a single mom with lots of fear, but thanks to my close circle of friends and a lot of consultations, I've managed slowly to overcome those and move on. It felt very uncomfortable, but it's 100% worth looking back at how far I've come. So now looking forward I know that the actions I need to take even if uncomfortable will pay off in the long run.

Taking time for oneself isn't about escaping reality; it's about confronting it with honesty and courage. So, if you're feeling overwhelmed, I encourage you to make space for solitude. Whether it's a few stolen moments or a whole day to yourself, the journey of self-discovery is worth it. Because in those moments of solitude, amidst the chaos, you just might find the peace and clarity you've been searching for and embark on the continuous journey of being a better version of yourself every day.
